Friesland Foods Kievit has made a breakthrough in micro-encapsulating long chain poly-unsaturated fatty acids (LC-PUFAs) such as ARA and DHA to enable the use in hypoallergenic infant formula.

With knowledge of spray drying technology and of encapsulation of long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids, Friesland Foods Kievit has developed Vana Sana DH 7 IF protein free..

Up to now all the micro-encapsulated long chain poly-unsaturated fatty acids powders on the market traditionally contain proteins or other milk-based allergens. Therefore they were unsuitable for use in hypoallergenic infant formula.

Stable and easy to blend
The encapsulate, Friesland Foods Kievit introduces is free of these milk-based allergens. It is a very stable and easy to blend encapsulate, that meets all requirements for use in hypoallergenic infant formula. This enables enrichment of hypoallergenic infant formula with long chain poly-unsaturated fatty acids such as ARA and DHA, which are nowadays widely applied in infant nutrition.
