BOB CELEBRATES SUCCESS WITH NEW HOURS, CATERING OPTIONS AND SPECIAL ITEMS FOR BASTILLE DAY |  | | PR Newswire | | 14/07/2008 | | | SAN FRANCISCO, July 10 /PRNewswire/ -- BEST-O-BURGER, the gourmet mini-burger franchise that opened two months ago in San Francisco's Financial District has sold their 50,000th burger reports Chief Burger Officer, Steve Weber.
"We opened BOB after putting much thought and effort into creating a fresh, high-quality burger that could be served up with a lot of fun," said Weber. "The response has exceeded expectations and we are thrilled to celebrate the big Five-O so quickly!"
Weber used the milestone to announce expanded store hours and the addition of catering services. Beginning July 15, BOB will be open Monday through Thursday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Fridays from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Corporate catering, delivery, and large order pick-up have been added and the BEST-O-BURGER location will be available for private burger parties on Saturdays and Sundays.
Additionally, BEST-O-BURGER will join with its Belden Place neighbors in the largest Bastille Day celebration on the West Coast with special foie gras burgers and custom made blue, white and red striped gelato to honor of the French flag.
The foie gras burger, created by Burger Boss Chef Randy Lewis will feature one ounce of seared foie gras atop a BOB burger and sell for $8.00. Lewis is a Food & Wine Magazine Best New Chef alumni.
BEST-O-BURGER comes from Weber's childhood love affair with the classic mini-burgers of the 1950's. The BOB Burger and BOB Cheeseburger are made from fresh, all natural Angus beef and are individually seared in cast iron skillets. The vegetarian Vegg-O Burger consists of fresh mushrooms, garlic, and four cheeses. BOB buns are baked fresh on the premises daily. French-fried potato Strings and onion Ring-O's that come with each order are cooked in rice oil, and Romaine-O salads are also on the menu. Shakes and Gelat-O Sammies (gelato ice cream sandwiches with homemade cookies) are made using artisanal Gelat-O from the award-winning La Copa Loca Gelateria.
An expanded menu with daily specials will begin to be offered in the next few weeks. Planned additions include the BOB-O Tac-O Salad, double-patty Fat BOB and Cheesy Fat BOB burgers, Mozz-O-Meatball, and the day's featured special burger, BOB's Le Magnifique Especiale de Baron de Monte Carlo.
