This development marks the nutritional innovator’s long-term commitment to delivering science-led solutions tailored to the Asia-Pacific region. The venue’s official opening was attended by local dignitaries and key figures from Asia-Pacific’s food and beverage industry.
Located to the north west of Shanghai, in Suzhou, the site specialises in developing value-adding nutritional solutions, based primarily on vitamins and minerals, for a range of sectors including functional foods and beverages, nutraceuticals, performance nutrition, dietary supplements and infant nutrition. Guests at the grand opening of the 1500m2 facility learned how the site was modelled on Glanbia Nutritionals’ network of facilities in Europe. These existing sites have helped to establish the company as a global leader in high quality vitamin and mineral solutions, sports and specialist nutrition.
Prior to the opening, production, applications and technical experts from Glanbia Nutritionals’ European operations provided extensive training for the Suzhou site’s employees. In addition, key Suzhou personnel spent up to six months shadowing their European counterparts in Glanbia Nutritionals’ state-of-the-art facility in Germany. A long-term collaborative strategy is in place to ensure systems and analytical methods delivered in Suzhou continue to the highest international standard.
Having extended its local manufacturing capabilities in China, Glanbia Nutritionals is well positioned to offer its partners in Asia an extensive range of ingredients and customised solutions. High quality nutritional premixes incorporating vitamins, minerals, nucleotides and amino acids will be developed in Suzhou, to cater for Asia- Pacific’s fast-growing food and nutrition sectors.
