 | | ACS&T LOGISTICS APPOINTS NEW IT PROJECT MANAGER | | | ACS&T Logistics | | 16/06/2008 | | | ACS&T Logistics, the UK’s leading provider of frozen-food transport and storage, has appointed Andrew Beasley as IT Project Manager. Andrew is joining ACS&T at an important time for the business, following its restructure into three new divisions, covering temperature controlled services, production support and co-packing.
“ACS&T operates what is widely regarded as the best on-line stock management system in the industry”, said Carl Robinson, ACS&T Logistics’ Sales and Commercial Director of ACS&T Logistics. “This enables our customers and their suppliers to view the status of their stock in our cold store in real time. They can check the status of deliveries and receive email alerts should stock fall below agreed levels.”
He continued… “Andrew’s key priority is to ensure that our IT systems stay ahead of the competition in terms of the very real benefits they offer our customers and their suppliers. He will also ensure that our IT systems adapt to meet the needs of our evolving business, so that as we expand the range of services we provide, customers can continue to receive a joined up service. We are pleased to welcome Andrew to the team.”
Andrew has many years’ experience of developing customer service IT systems for a wide range of organisations. He has spent the last six years at TDG, as IT manager with responsibility for warehouse management systems in the temperature-controlled business unit. As such, Andrew brings a wealth of relevant experience to his new role.
ACS&T Logistics’ services are provided from four centres: Grimsby (Headquarters) Wolverhampton, Tewkesbury and Scarborough. The business currently operates 14 cold stores, 2 ambient stores, extensive co-packing facilities and large, dedicated and shared-user multi-temp transport fleets. ACS&T Logistics is a wholly owned subsidiary of Camellia plc. Camellia is an international investment company with a long-term outlook on each of its trading companies. The turnover of the group is £160M, and it employs 75,000 people in 15 companies. Forty per cent of the group’s revenue is generated from UK operations. In addition to food storage and distribution, Camellia operates in engineering, agriculture, banking and pharmaceuticals. The company is also the world’s largest independent tea producer. | |
