 | | BIOTECHMARINE INNOVATES IN STEM CELL TECHNOLOGY | | | BiotechMarine | | 28/05/2008 | | | BiotechMarine is known and recognized for its expertise in the world of top marine active ingredients and skin engineering.
After having expanded its catalogue last year with Bioplant (a range of 9 active ingredients inspired by coastal plants), BiotechMarine continues to work on the benefits of marine plants. With CIC2 (anti-ageing and skin lightening), it has already experimented stem cell technology by cultivating rock samphire cells. This technology-named Cellulosome®- consists on the one hand, in an alternative to prevent the disappearance of endangered species, and, on the other hand, in a new technological tool which enables to produce natural super-active ingredients and concentrates.
Based on this process, Cellulosomes® of Eryngium maritimum is an active ingredient which targets skin comprehensively.
Indeed, the product acts on global skin restructuring and is claimed to regenerate the epidermis and cell differentiation. It acts on the dermo-epidermal junction and the dermis. Moreover, Cellulosomes® of Eryngium has proven its efficacy in the reduction of photo-induced irritation and inflammation.
Its cosmetic claims (firming, revitalizing, moisturizing effects and skin texture improving) have been verified through in vivo tests.
The plant :
Eryngium maritimum or “Sea holly” is a sea shore plant native to Europe. It is mainly found in sandy and shingle areas. Its silver-glint spiny leaves make it a sweet and lovely plant (nice biotope, looking for sun exposure) as well as a hardy and strong plant. It is able to tolerate drought, sudden rises in temperature and poor soils. | |
