Melton Constable, Norfolk: Structure-flex Limited is one of the UK’s most successful providers of bulk packaging solutions to the world’s food, pharmaceutical, chemical and oil and gas industries, and a leading supplier of vehicle tension curtains and lifting products. Its products are exported all over the world.

Welding procedures play a major part in Structure-flex’s manufacturing processes, and in order to ‘future-proof’ its capabilities, the company has made a substantial £80,000 investment in a large, high frequency welding system. Featuring a fully temperature-stabilised weld head and improved process times, and with the capacity to weld lengths of up to 1.7 metres, this machine provides a significant competitive edge over lesser powered machines.

To ensure that, once established, the optimum setting can be used unfailingly, the machine boasts auto weld tuning combined with fully operator programmable and storable weld cycle parameters. Colour touch screen interface, one button tool change, joystick control for accurate manoeuvring and pressure sensitive guarding, ensure that the machine is easy and safe for operator use.

“Welding is an integral process of our business, and critical to the quality of our products,” explains Matt Doughty, Head of Sales and Marketing at Structure-flex. “Our new high-tech system raises our game, enhancing our ability to manufacture the high quality, cost effective products which our customers have come to expect.”
