 | | ORGANIC PRODUCTS CONTINUE TO GROW | | | Food Design Ltd. | | 24/04/2008 | | | Companies looking to source organic sweet ingredients for their products need look no further than Food Design, creative manufacturer of innovative toffee and fudge inclusions for the worldwide confectionery market.
The company has a stable of products that is aimed specifically at the organic market and the range, with its important maxim of no loss of performance, continues to grow across the entire range. New to the market are the company’s chocolate-coated products with organic coating. Available in milk, plain or white chocolate. In fact, the majority of the company’s organic products can be successfully chocolate-coated.
Chocolate-coated products are ideal for small bakery items such as doughnuts, cup cakes, chilled and frozen desserts or can be used in snack mixes, breakfast cereals or sprinkled on top of ice cream.
The organic range includes truffle that will not freeze at minus 20, and bakestable fudge that has the ability to hold its shape during cooking, even at temperatures of over 200 degrees. Products offer taste, texture and eye appeal and can be used in a variety of baking applications as well as in cereals, chocolate, ice-cream and chilled and frozen desserts. A choice of sizes is offered from crumb through to 10mm cubes.
Toffee pieces were one of the company’s first products to be manufactured organically and they remain firmly at the top of the company’s bestseller list. This product works extremely well as a muffin inclusion as the toffee melts into the muffin and produces a rich toffee flavour. By adding as decoration bakestable fudge pieces, the simple version of a muffin becomes a double toffee treat. Available in a 6mm caramel flavoured cube, the product retains its shape during baking, and has the bonus of offering eye appeal as well as the extra taste. Even when used within the muffin, the fudge pieces hold their shape in the oven. Organic butterscotch pieces, available in pieces of 3-6 mm and 3-10 mm, are ideal for biscuits or ice-cream.
Increasing in popularity is golden honeycomb and Food Design believes that it is the only company to produce this in an organic format. When mixed with chocolate it offers not only a crispy bite, but is also visually appealing. When sprinkled into or onto ice-cream it looks attractive and taste delicious. This product with its rich honey colour has a robust toffee flavour profile of high caramelisation.
Caramel sauce is also included in the organic portfolio and is ideal for spreading onto caramel shortbread squares. Its golden colour originates, not from additives, but from the caramelisation of the sugar, butter and syrups. | |
