Solbar will highlight Solgen SR, a slow release soy isoflavones for reducing menopausal symptoms at Vitafoods 2008.

Solgen SR is microencapsulated to achieve a slow release effect, avoiding momentarily high serum peaks and giving sustained availability throughout the day, demonstrated to improve consumer compliance. Solgen SR (min. 30% soy isoflavones with 55% min. in the genistin and genistein forms) is a free flowing granule coated with cellulose derivatives in order to release the active ingredient over a period of 12 hours. It can be used in compressed tablets or hard-gel capsules. Solbar’s Solgen soy isoflavones have been registered by a European Drug Master File.

Solgen SR was clinically studied and reported in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry (2005) by Professors Kenneth Setchell (Children’s Hospital, Cincinnati) and Amnon Brzezinski (Hadassah Hospital, Jerusalem).

Solgen SR is one in a series of natural soy isoflavone extracts being presented at the Vitafoods 2008 for a variety of health benefits.
