IFIS TO LAUNCH NEW VERSION OF FSTA DIRECT DATABASE

The International Food Information Service (IFIS) is pleased to announce the launch of their new online database interface, FSTA Direct v2, in May 2008. FSTA Direct v2 offers a new and improved way to search the FSTA – Food Science and Technology Abstracts® database.

FSTA – Food Science and Technology Abstracts® is the world’s leading database of information covering food science, food technology and nutrition. It is an essential resource for food scientists looking to keep up-to-date with the latest scientific research. This could include innovations in ingredients and processing, scientific substantiation of health and nutritional benefits, and food quality and safety issues.

FSTA Direct v2 offers easy online access to FSTA with a host of new features and functionality. Users have the choice of simple free text searching or can be guided in the set up of more detailed searches. Other enhancements include improved results analysis, the option to set up RSS feeds or email alerts of results, improved Help and a new log-in page with the latest news and announcements and ATHENS sign-in.

The new FSTA Direct v2 interface has been developed in close consultation with FSTA Direct users, and after extensive research and testing. IFIS believe that FSTA Direct v2 will greatly enhance the searching experience for existing clients and increase its appeal as an essential R&D resource for prospective clients.

Access to FSTA Direct v2 is by annual subscription or Prepay (pay-per-view), depending on the level of access required. Specifically tailored e-alerts can also be purchased separately.
