The UK’s leading specialist fruit ingredients supplier, J.O. Sims, will be showcasing its extensive range of fruit solutions at this year’s BiE. As the UK’s exclusive distributor for Ocean Spray ITG, a key highlight on the J.O. Sims stand will be BerryFusions® Fruits – a versatile, cost-effective fruit solution ideal for baked goods. Also on display will be an extensive portfolio of sweetened dried cranberries (SDCs), as well as a wide range of other fruit ingredients, such as blueberries, blackcurrants and a selection of other dried and infused fruits.

Fruit is ideal for adding taste, colour and consumer appeal, and also confers a better-for-you image to baked goods. BerryFusions Fruits are natural fruit solutions that are process tolerant and available year-round. They allow manufacturers to bake with fruits that are traditionally difficult to work with, such as orange, mango, raspberry and strawberry. These robust, process and heat tolerant ingredients do not absorb water over time, unlike other dried fruits, and can be incorporated directly into batters and doughs.

Cranberry-based ingredients provide attractive taste, colour and an impressive nutritional profile to a number of bakery applications, including muffins, biscuits, cakes and bread. J.O. Sims offers a wide range of sweetened dried cranberries to meet every need, including diced, double-diced, soft and moist and juice-infused.

J.O. Sims’ dedication to servicing the bakery sector is demonstrated by the recent appointment of Katharine Schofield, technical sales executive, who will provide dedicated specialist knowledge and technical applications expertise for the company’s bakery customers.

Douglas Mackay, J.O. Sims’ general manager for ingredients, comments: “The bakery industry continues to be a major focus for J.O. Sims, and we are delighted to have Katharine on board as our in-house specialist. We’re looking forward to meeting with new and existing customers at this year’s show to help them add value to their products, resolve existing fruit inclusion problems and create innovative baked goods with real consumer appeal.”

Representatives from J.O. Sims will be available on-stand throughout the show to discuss the company’s extensive portfolio of ingredients and their bakery applications.
