 | | SIRANE APPOINTS NEW MANUFACTURING SERVICES MANAGER | | | Sirane Ltd | | 28/02/2008 | | | The UK’s premier packaging solutions company, Sirane has promoted Magda Duczak as Manufacturing Services Manager.
'Magda's role is a crucial one,' says Sirane director Simon Balderson, 'and she skilfully manages all of the resources that we need. In many ways her job is the hub around which we all move. Magda's promotion at Sirane is fully deserved and we wholeheartedly welcome her to the Sirane management team.'
Fluent in English, Spanish, Polish and proficient in Portuguese, and educated in Wroclaw, Poland and Porto, Portugal, Magda joined Sirane in April 2006. Her new role is to balance and schedule and negotiate with Sirane's many suppliers as needed and so as to meet the demands of the increasing Sirane order book.
Says Magda, 'I really like the fact that no two days are the same at Sirane; we are busy with different products every day and the responsibility and the activities involved are challenging but enjoyable.'
Magda's tasks include the management of purchasing, shipping and storage activities and responsibility for stock management. It is a challenging role that embraces transport, logistics, communications and many other skills. Much of the work involves using the software programmes Opera and Pegasus and Sirane has also recently invested in a new CRM (Customer Relationship System) adjunct to the system, now recently installed.
Magda stresses the importance of suppliers keeping open lines of communications with their clients. 'If hauliers or other suppliers are set to overrun their delivery dates or other parts of their agreements we really prefer to know about it and then take remedial action rather than let our customer down,' she says.
Next month sees Sirane move into new and larger purpose built accommodation in Telford. The new Sirane factory will occupy some 40,000 sq ft and Balderson pledges that 'we are equipping it to the highest possible standards - aiming to make Sirane the safest and most hygienic food packaging company in Europe.' New equipment will be sourced and new jobs created in order to meet the increasing Sirane order book.
Since its foundation in 2003 Sirane's turnover has more than doubled through every year and the trend is set to continue through 2008. | |
