 | | BURDOCK GROUP OPENS NEW HEADQUARTERS IN ORLANDO | | | Burdock Group | | 19/02/2008 | | | Industry demand for safety assistance with nanotechnology and other emerging issues spurs toxicology consulting firm to grow and obtain larger space.
Burdock Group, a leading provider of safety and regulatory services to food, dietary supplement, personal care and pet food manufacturers across the globe, today announced that due to rapid company growth it has opened brand new headquarters in downtown Orlando and closed its office in Vero Beach, Fla.
The new office building encompasses more than 7,000 square feet.
“We’ve added several key team members, relocated others from Vero Beach and plan to add more in the coming year,” said George A. Burdock, Ph.D., Burdock Group founder. “Expansion was necessary because as the industry advances into new innovations, it requires unique ingredient formulations and delivery techniques which spur greater demand for our specialized array of regulatory and safety services.”
One such emerging technology, nanotechnology, has piqued the interest of many product developers within the industry. “It spans across every sector and, until recently, hasn’t really delved into the critical safety and regulatory issues that surround it,” he said. “However, with our new office we now have the space to accommodate our strategically assembled team, including our experienced toxicologists adept at nanotechnology.”
Shortly after settling into the company’s new headquarters, Dr. Burdock will travel to Washington, D.C. on Feb. 28 to moderate a panel on the subject as part of the Food, Drug and Law Institute’s 1st Annual Conference on Nanotechnology Law, Regulation and Policy. “With a new office in Orlando, surrounded by multiple hosting venues, I anticipate that the suggestion of holding meetings at our headquarters will be well-received by many of the colleagues I meet at this conference,” he said.
The company selected Orlando as its new home base due to its status as a professional hub for scientific and technological businesses, particularly within the medical and biotech industry sectors. In addition, Orlando has a strong reputation as a travel and industry trade show hot spot. “It’s an ideal location for our business and it further positions us for success,” Burdock said. | |
