LOUIS FOOD INGREDIENT BUSINESS AND FACILITY |  | | Givaudan Flavours Corporation | | 13/02/2008 | | | Givaudan Flavours Corporation announced today that it has sold its St. Louis, MO USA based food ingredient business and manufacturing facility to PCI Company, of St. Louis, MO, owner of Diehl Food Ingredients as well as Sensory Effects™ and Emulsion Technology Inc. The divestiture was closed today, 13 February, 2008, for an undisclosed amount.
“The sale of this facility and business is consistent with our strategy to focus on the higher growth core flavour and snack seasoning businesses where value added Givaudan technologies and solutions enable our customers to market the best tasting products and brands in the world” said Dan McCafferty, President, North America for Givaudan Flavours.
The St. Louis operation, formerly Consolidated Flavours, became part of the Givaudan family in 1997 as part of the Tastemaker acquisition. The facility produces flavour bases and variegates utilized by dairies in the production of ice cream and novelty products as well as cocoa powder.
“We believe that PCI is a great company and, importantly, the right company to run this business” said McCafferty. “As the new owner, they are well positioned to grow this business. The people, products, and facility are aligned with their strategy and growth plan and they are committed to developing the business”.
