VITACEL® WHEAT FIBRE AWARDED WITH THE ECARF SEAL OF QUALITY
J. RETTERMAIER & SÖHNE GmbH & Co. KG (JRS)
04/12/2007
The European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation (ECARF) has awarded VITACEL® Wheat Fibre the "Seal of Quality for allergy-friendly products and services”.
In comparison to a conventional wheat bran Wheat Fibre consists of the gernerally for the human nutrition important dietary fibres cellulose and hemicellulose. Lignin is only existent in a small percentage (approx. 0.5 %). Gluten and phytic acid are analytical not detectable. Of high importance are here the very low residues of pesticides and heavy metals as well as the very low microbial load.
The VITACEL® Cereal Fibres are neutral in taste and have a bright colour. The inert character guarantees that the fibres don’t react with other ingredients of the formulation. A special character ist the fibre capillary which allows a temperature independent water binding and water retention, the insoluble fibre improves the texture and stability of the fibre enriched foodstuff.
J. RETTERMAIER & SÖHNE GmbH & Co. KG (JRS) was founded in 1877 and is located in Rosenberg, in the province Baden-Württemberg. The firm’s field of activity is milling, fractionating, and refinement of cellulose, fruit and cereal fibres as well as colloidal systems based on MCC resp. Wheat Fibre. JRS has 12 production facilities in Germany, Finland and USA and is market leader in the insoluble fibre business.
