 | | IPA 2008 TO BRING BEST OF FOOD-PROCESSING INDUSTRY TO PARIS | | | IPA | | 06/11/2007 | | | IPA 2008, the leading trade show for the food-processing industry, will be held in Paris from 17 to 20 November 2008. The show will feature a programme of events focused on future developments and innovation and there will be nearly 600 French and international companies attending. IPA is a unique platform for discovering the latest processes, innovations and research in the food industries. IPA 2008 will be divided into two sections – IPA MATIC and IPA MULTIFILIERE.
IPA MATIC will be in Hall 1, grouping together all the exhibitors offering equipment and machinery for the fish- and meat-processing industries. Within IPA MATIC, the MATIC Commerce area will be devoted to specialised equipment for shopkeepers (butchers, delicatessens, caterers and other food businesses). The IPA MULTIFILIERE area in Hall 2 will bring together equipment and machinery dedicated to dairy products, liquids and semi-liquids (SIEL), breads and pastries, confectionery, fruit and vegetables, and ready-made meals, as well as products for food and sanitary testing, laboratories and thermal processing. The Innovation & Research Forum will present the latest technological advances in process engineering. It will be a unique opportunity to highlight the food-processing industry’s main R&D activities at the European level. In 2006, the Forum beat previous attendance records with over 1,000 attendees. Over the course of the 2008 event, there will be 20 conferences on subjects including sustainable development, energy, refrigeration, bioprocessing, regulations and the latest equipment performance. The IPA Innovation Competition/SIEL Trophy is designed to promote technological excellence and reward the most outstanding innovations, selected from among the new developments presented at the show. A jury of industry experts (journalists, representatives of institutions and major end-users) will award the prizes on the first day of the trade show, so that visitors can then discover the award-winning products during the exhibition. Food safety is a major concern for the industry and there will be a dedicated area in Hall 1 at the centre of the IPA MATIC zone: the Food Safety – Traceability Area will bring together companies offering identification solutions, management/production information systems (MIS/PIS) and specialised software. There will also be an opportunity to organise meetings and debates on this important topic. Organised in conjunction with leading French cooking schools, the Culinary Demonstration Area will allow exhibitors and visitors to sample the finest French cooking. Each day during IPA 2008, young apprentice chefs will prepare French regional specialities, as well as innovative new dishes. | |
