NEW SOYA PROTEINS FROM ADM DELIVER COST-EFFECTIVE DAIRY REPLACEMENT

Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) has introduced an innovative new line of soya protein products to fully or partially replace dairy proteins in a variety of applications. This comes as positive news for food manufacturers looking for cost-effective alternatives to dairy proteins in view of increased skimmed milk prices.

Research shows that ADM’s new Pro Fam and Arcon dairy protein replacement products offer food manufacturers approximately 20% cost savings over milk proteins such as skim milk powder and caseinates. Key potential applications for Pro Fam and Arcon include yogurt type products, frozen desserts, biscuit and cake type products plus imitation mozzarella cheese goods. These proteins are also suitable for use by the dairy industry to extend milk supply.

Pro Fam soya isolates and Arcon soya concentrates have been developed to provide the same functionality as traditional dairy proteins. They work by binding water and emulsifying fat and have no adverse effect on the appearance or behaviour of the end product. These soya proteins give manufacturers greater flexibility and importantly require no equipment change.
