Coffee and tea manufacturer quickly sees cost savings through more effective inventory management and demand visibility

Logility, Inc. (Nasdaq: LGTY), a leading supplier of collaborative solutions to optimize the supply chain, today announced that Mother Parkers, the largest coffee and tea manufacturer in North America, has successfully deployed Logility Voyager Solutions to improve demand and inventory planning and has already experienced cost savings as a result of better inventory management and demand visibility.

Mother Parkers is the manufacturer and marketer of specialty coffee and tea brands including Higgins and Burke Gourmet, Mother Parkers, Brown Gold, Martinson and Beech Nut. Based in Mississauga, Ontario, Mother Parkers also operates plants in Ajax, Ontario and Fort Worth, TX. Mother Parkers was challenged by a mostly manual inventory and demand planning process and selected Logility Voyager Solutions to enable them to manage inventory more effectively and create a more collaborative production planning environment.

"We selected Logility Voyager Solutions because we wanted a system that would easily integrate with our ERP platform and automate our inventory and forecasting processes," said Glenn Nicodemus, manager of supply chain planning at Mother Parkers. "Logility gives us more visibility into market demand and seasonal patterns and enables us to aggregate data quickly for capacity planning which makes our production planning more efficient. Since rolling out Logility in September 2007, we have already seen savings of up to $800,000 from safety stocks alone and are experiencing higher inventory turns as a result of more accurate forecasts."

Logility Voyager Solutions automates the process of predicting market demand which increases forecast accuracy, optimizes inventory levels and drives efficient sourcing and production. With Logility, Mother Parkers is able to model demand patterns based on factors such as seasonality ensuring that they have the right inventory to meet market demand. Logility will also enable Mother Parkers to gain a customer-level planning process which will allow them to know which products are sold to specific customers.

"We are very pleased that Mother Parkers has quickly experienced cost savings as a result of their deployment of Logility," said Mike Edenfield, president and CEO, Logility. "By automating their inventory planning processes with Logility Voyager Solutions, Mother Parkers has dramatically reduced the time it takes to gather the data critical for effective inventory planning and forecasting and we look forward to supporting their continued success."
