Pink tags will be on display throughout Ralphs stores again this year as the supermarket chain partners with vendors and suppliers to support National Breast Cancer Awareness month in October.

Throughout the month, pink tags can be found on shelves in Ralphs stores across Southern California to identify participating products customers can purchase to support breast cancer awareness in their community. Several of Ralphs' vendor partners have created special packaging to support the campaign. In addition, Ralphs Director of Foundation Relations Jan Golleher, a four-year breast cancer survivor, will share her experience on specially-marked products, including Kellogg's Special K Red Berries cereal and Keebler Club Crackers.

Participating vendor partners include Campbell's, Coca-Cola's Powerade and Minute Maid brands, General Mills products under the Betty Crocker, Pillsbury and Green Giant labels, and Kraft products. Many of Ralphs' own corporate brand items, including several products under its exclusive Private Selection line, will also have pink tags.

Ralphs and its vendor partners have committed to raise $170,000 during the campaign to support breast cancer research and awareness in communities its stores serve.

"This cause is important to our customers and associates and we are honored to do our part to provide support to help educate women about early detection, diagnosis and treatment," said Mike Donnelly, President of Ralphs Supermarkets.

Ralphs Grocery Company was founded in 1873 and currently operates 263 supermarkets in Southern California from its headquarters in Los Angeles. Ralphs is a division of The Kroger Co., (NYSE: KR), one of the nation's largest food retailers, based in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 2006, the Company donated $150 million to help hunger relief efforts across the country, raise awareness of breast cancer, and support local schools and organizations in the communities it serves.
