Miele's culinary classes will explore international cuisines every Thursday this October.

Miele, a brand synonymous with fine cooking appliances, is now teaching culinary classes in their state-of- the-art Michael Graves' designed showroom. Miele's corporate chefs will be leading the hands-on courses geared toward individuals who would like to expand their skills and repertoire under the guidance of a professional chef.

Of course, the best part of learning to cook like a gourmet is the opportunity to taste the results. All of the classes end with a tasting, complete with the correctly paired wine, beer or coffee. Miele's gourmet classes are full participation and will last approximately two and a half hours. Class sizes are intimate -- no larger than 10 adults per session -- and reservations are required in advance.

The schedule for October's internationally themed courses include the following menus that, once mastered, can be easily repeated at home.

Week 1: October 4 - Spanish Tapas Party

Prepare and taste exquisite tapas ("big little bites"): Wood-Roasted Sweet Peppers in Olive Oil, Meatballs with Almond Sauce, Steamed Clams with Chorizo and Sofrito, Spanish Potato Omelet. Enjoy the finished results paired with a Sangria Blanco.

Week 2: October 11 - Homemade Pasta, Italian-Style

Learn techniques for making fresh pasta and traditional sauces with these warm Italian meals served family-style: Sweet Potato Ravioli with Brown Butter, Fettuccine with Prosciutto and Cream Sauce and Pappardelle with Mama's Meat Sauce. Paired with assorted Italian wines.

Week 3: October 18 - Flavors of the Orient

Discover the secrets of Asian cooking: Chinese Spare Ribs, Thai Shrimp in Coconut Milk and Moo Shu Chicken served with authentic Chinese beer.

Week 4: October 25 - The Viennese Table

Create show-stopping desserts for your next party: Bavarian Apple Torte, Hazelnut Tiramisu and Decadent Chocolate Cake served with dessert coffees.

All classes are held at Miele's Princeton Design Center -- 9 Independence Way -- just off of Route 1 on the northbound side. The fees for the culinary courses are $85 per class or $300 for a set of four sessions. For details and reservations call 609-419-9898 x 2515 or email vrobb@mieleusa.com.
